In furtherance of her efforts to empower young people to realise their full potential, the Youth Harvest Foundation Ghana in partnership with the GoalKeepers Accelerator Fund has launched a project titled Youth4Change (Y4C) in five communities in the Nabdam district of the Upper East Region of Ghana. The project aims to support increasing young people’s access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) information and services for out-of-school youth. The Y4C initiative is a youth-led SRH education campaign for youth-friendly SRH services and ending child marriage. Youth for Change will directly contribute to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 3.7 of ensuring universal access to sexual and reproductive care services as well as Sustainable Development Goal 5.3 of ending child marriage.

Speaking during the project launch, Ghana’s Goalkeepers Youth Action Accelerator, Priscilla Nyaaba, who is the acting YHFG Executive Director, said “by addressing child marriage and teenage pregnancy, we increase the chances that young people will progress in their careers and become self-reliant and self-sufficient. This will result in a more healthy, equal, and prosperous society.”

Goalkeepers is a multi-year campaign dedicated to accelerating progress toward the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. Using powerful stories, data, and partnerships, Goalkeepers highlights progress achieved, holds governments accountable, and brings together a new generation of leaders to address the world’s major challenges. The launch of the Goalkeepers Youth Action Accelerator is a direct response to the challenges young people face in accessing sufficient and appropriate resources to meaningfully engage in development decisions and activities that affect their communities
